fallen under one categorization by stamp collectors: Cinderella Stamps. But...
the term Cinderella is archaic and confusing to many. Mainly because Cinderella was a
"catchall" categorization for any stamp which did not have a large
postal authority behind it. Hence, the stamp did not carry any postal services -or
monetary value- with it. Cinderella's, like the beautiful damsel from the fairy tale, was
fake, not real, etc. However, because Cinderella stamps in general are artistic by concept
and design, they are indeed artistic stamps. Now that we have
entered the 21st Century and times have changed, so must the nomenclature. To keep
perspectives straight and to remove as much confusion as possible.
The proper term, or category name if you prefer for artistic stamps is: Artistamp
